Australia’s leading luxury single malt whisky brand, LARK Distilling Co., will make its first duty-free entry into Asia this month through Lotte Duty Free, Changi Airport, bringing its award-winning portfolio to one of the world’s busiest international travel hubs, ahead of the international debut of No.166 DARK LARK in July.
The launch follows another major milestone for the Tasmanian distillery, with LARK recently awarded five Gold Medals at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition across its Signature Collection, Global Travel Retail range and upcoming cask strength releases. The launch introduces Tasmanian single malt to one of the world’s leading travel retail destinations at a time of growing global interest in premium New World whisky.

Founded in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious spirits judging events in the world. Organised by The Tasting Alliance, the competition draws thousands of entries annually from distilleries across the globe. All spirits are evaluated through a strict blind tasting process, with judges drawn from across the industry, including distillers, bartenders, beverage directors and drinks journalists.
LARK Master Distiller Chris Thomson said the results were a reflection of the entire team’s work.
“Five Gold Medals at San Francisco is a fantastic result for the whole team. The SFWSC is one of the toughest blind judging competitions in the world, so to have whiskies across our Signature Collection and GTR range recognised at this level is incredibly exciting. It’s a reflection of just how far Tasmanian whisky has come – and for us, we feel like we’re only just getting started.”
