Nestlé International Travel Retail (NITR) is introducing the biggest innovation in the history of its iconic After Eight brand, with the launch of three new flavours beyond the brand’s traditional mint offering.
Available in global travel retail from September 2026, the expanded range introduces Caramel, Orange and Raspberry variants alongside the classic Mint recipe. The launch is supported by a contemporary new packaging design across the entire portfolio, reinforcing After Eight’s premium credentials while broadening its appeal to new consumer audiences.
The innovation marks a significant step in the evolution of one of the world’s best-known premium chocolate brands. By moving beyond its heritage mint flavour, After Eight is extending its relevance to more gifting occasions and self-treat moments, while attracting younger consumers seeking premium confectionery experiences.
The refreshed range retains the brand’s distinctive individually wrapped chocolate envelopes, preserving the sharing ritual that has made After Eight a favourite for generations.
For travel retailers, the launch provides a fresh opportunity to drive excitement within the premium confectionery category through new products, engaging merchandising and innovative activations.
Fred Porchet, General Manager, Nestlé International Travel Retail, said: “After Eight has long been synonymous with premium mint chocolate, making it one of the most recognisable brands in confectionery. By introducing flavours beyond mint for the first time, we are broadening the brand’s appeal to new consumers and more consumption occasions while preserving the elegance and quality that have defined After Eight for decades.
“This innovation is particularly relevant for travel retail, where shoppers are looking for distinctive gifting solutions and premium products that offer something new. The expanded range, together with refreshed packaging, travel messaging and engaging in-store activations, helps our retail partners create excitement, recruit younger adult shoppers and drive incremental growth within the premium confectionery category.”
The launch also supports NITR’s ambition to engage younger adult consumers, including Gen Z travellers, who are increasingly shaping purchasing behaviour in travel retail through their appetite for discovery, premiumisation and immersive retail experiences.
After Eight’s refreshed visual identity modernises the brand while maintaining its unmistakable heritage. Clear colour coding enables shoppers to navigate the expanded flavour range, creating stronger shelf impact and enhancing visibility in-store.
Quality remains central to the After Eight proposition. The expanded portfolio contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and continues to use cocoa mass sourced from farming families participating in Nestlé’s Income Accelerator Programme, supporting more sustainable cocoa production while helping improve the livelihoods of cocoa-farming families.
