Bombay Sapphire’s new limited edition – English Estate Gin – has launched in duty-free with an exclusive at DFS stores in Singapore Changi.
Featuring pennyroyal mint, rosehip and toasted hazelnut botanicals, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Limited Edition: English Estate is a summer-inspired gin capturing the essence of the hills and hedgerows that surround the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Laverstoke Mill Distillery.
As the global gin boom thrives, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE continues to lead the charge with the launch of limited edition BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate® – a gin inspired by the landscape surrounding the brand’s distillery in the English countryside.
Launching in duty-free, initially an Asia exclusive with DFS at Singapore Changi Airport before a roll out across other regions (it is also available in domestic markets), BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate initiates a planned series of limited edition product innovations to ignite the premium gin category over the coming years.
BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate is produced at the brand’s historic Laverstoke Mill Distillery, set deep in the heart of southern England on a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), famous for its natural heritage.
Previewed on Duty Free Hunter (see post) back in April, this new edition the renowned and much-loved citrus flavour of the world’s leading premium gin, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, is delicately infused with three new botanicals in the new limited edition London Dry Gin: pennyroyal mint, rosehip and toasted hazelnut. This blend of botanicals results in bright citrus notes, invigorated with mint, which create a light and vibrant taste for the ultimate summer gin, designed to be enjoyed creatively in a variety of cocktails.
The highly-anticipated limited edition will be available for 12 months only, and landed in duty-free from May 2019.
Ivano Tonutti, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Master of Botanicals comments, “Each botanical in our gin is carefully balanced to create a smooth and complex taste and the new BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate is no different. Hand-selected from the English countryside and drawing creative inspiration from the Hampshire home of BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, the additional botanicals produce a summer-inspired vibrant gin. Bursting with bright citrus notes and invigorated with mint, BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate provides a subtle taste elevation for gin lovers to enjoy.”
The new launch is celebrated with the creation of two cocktails that are specifically curated to showcase the flavours of the new limited edition. The Secret English Garden blends BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate with Fever-Tree ginger ale and cloudy apple juice – served long with lemon, apple, thyme and ice. For something more classic with a twist is the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE English Estate Gin & Tonic, a single or double measure combined with Fever-Tree tonic, served over ice, garnished with mint and a lemon wedge.
Julie Witherden, Marketing Director, Bacardi Global Travel Retail says: “As the fastest growing gin in the region, it’s truly exciting to partner with DFS at Changi airport, and be able to offer their shoppers the latest innovation from BOMBAY SAPPHIRE. English Estate has been meticulously developed to meet the needs of a consumer and category that celebrates craftsmanship, but also appreciates the luxury of classic cocktails. The addition of locally sourced botanicals such as pennyroyal mint, rosehip and toasted hazelnut create a perfectly balanced, unique expression of our iconic BOMBAY SAPPHIRE brand to produce a delicate gin perfect for long, relaxing summer afternoons.”
