Bottega Veneta debuts Eau de Velours fragrance in duty-free

Bottega Veneta introduces its newest fragrance: Eau de Velours, a sophisticated and bold evolution of the signature Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum, presented in 2011.

Reflecting Creative Director Tomas Maier’s vision, the iconic original fragrance pays homage to Bottega Veneta’s origins in Vicenza, in the Veneto region in the North East of Italy, highlighting the quintessential Italian moment taking place in a classic Italian villa.

THE OPULENCE OF THE ROSE
Eau de Velours expresses a refined yet voluptuous femininity. Continuing the long collaboration between Tomas Maier and perfumers Michel Almairac and Mylène Alran, the sophisticated floral leather chypre is a new and captivating creation centred around the petals of a velvety rose. Opening with top notes of bergamot and pink peppercorn, the heart of the rose absolute imbues the original fragrance with an unexpected intense touch that ignites the senses. Leather and patchouli are fused together adding strength to the base. True to the house, the highest quality raw materials are once again woven together to create a lasting impression.

ICONIC CRAFTSMANSHIP
Bottega Veneta’s Eau de Velours embodies enduring principles of outstanding craftsmanship, timeless yet innovative design, contemporary functionality and the highest quality materials. The emblematic intrecciato motif is showcased both on the base of the flacon and on the outer box. The flacon takes on a burgundy hue, while the box displays a degradé shade which goes from plum to deep wine, evoking the sumptuous tones of dark rose petals and serving as a striking backdrop for elegant golden lettering. A velvet ribbon is wrapped around the neck of the bottle in place of the iconic leather cord.

PURE ELEGANCE
Continuing the Bottega Veneta tradition of Art of Collaboration between Tomas Maier and world-renowned talents in different fields, the Creative Director once again called upon legendary photographer Bruce Weber and iconic beauty Nine d’Urso to illustrate the essence of the Eau de Velours and create an inspiring atmosphere to represent the feminine concept of this fragrance in which the visuals capture a figure cast in a burgundy shadow, recalling the most memorable ingredient of the eau de parfum: the rose absolute.

Eau de Velours will be on counter from September 2017 in selected duty-free and travel retail stores worldwide.
