Chloé reinvents this emblematic fragrance by offering it a new dimension. And so, Cedrus Intense enters the scene, paying a powerful tribute to the unique olfactory signature of Cedrus. Launching in duty-free worldwide this February.

In the Atelier des Fleurs collection by Chloé, perfumers-artists guide your sight and smell toward some utterly singular flowers. Paying tribute to the pioneering vision of Gaby Aghion, they shed light on specimens that are perfect in their imperfect charm, all to reveal the beauty of the unexplored. In 2019 for Atelier des Fleurs, perfumer Quentin Bisch created a unique fragrance inspired by the idea of a bouquet of woods. From a melding of cedar, vetiver and sandalwood, Cedrus came to be. The fusion of these three essences gave rise to a luminous scent full of skyward radiance, heightened by a refreshing, slightly spiced accord of top notes. Cedar let itself be discovered anew, appearing in all its complexity by exuding its tender, balsamic and ambery facets. Cedrus quickly became the most iconic scent in the range.

Today, Chloé reinvents this emblematic fragrance by offering it a new dimension. And so, Cedrus Intense enters the scene, paying a powerful tribute to the unique olfactory signature of Cedrus. This creation stems from a bond of affinity with a second perfumer, as Quentin Bisch and Louise Turner have joined forces exclusively to recompose the original accord and bestow cedar with all its intensity.
The fragrance’s three core woods have evolved, with Cedrus Intense marrying together Chinese cedar, Indian sand vetiver and Australian sandalwood. Each of these varieties unveils unexpected facets, instilling the composition with their force of character.

A CRESCENDO OF WOODY NOTES

Exceptionally high concentrations of noble materials, assertive notes that merge and collide with one another… Cedrus Intense is a fragrance with multiple surprising dimensions, all in line with free, instinctive, confident femininity.

Quentin Bisch’s vision is now strengthened by a duet composition along with Louise Turner. The two perfumers have pooled together their creative talents to compose an altogether more intense, potent and profound fragrance. Their collaboration has birthed a new fragrance befitting of the cedar itself, a lofty tree that symbolises nobility and righteousness.

Like Cedrus, this new variation opens with sparkling scents of bergamot and cardamom. This vibrant accord of top notes gains strength and depth through a flood of fallen foliage that is almost dark in tone.

Already featured at the heart of Cedrus was the rose, Chloé’s emblematic flower of femininity. It, too, takes on some striking accents here, mingling with cypriol to imbue its generously petalled notes with new leathery inflections.

Next comes a trio of woods meticulously selected by Quentin Bisch and Louise Turner from several locations around the world. As smoky-toned Chinese cedar is crossed with the biting minerality of Indian sand vetiver, Australian sandalwood enters with its pure yet creamy tones. Each of these exceptional varieties expresses its own subtle, unexpected facets.

United by the perfumers’ inspirations, cedar, vetiver and sandalwood form an olfactory base that points skyward in an utterly fluid movement. The result is a distinctive accord with a powerful, lasting trail like an homage to feminine energy.
