Hong Kong Airport goes Monkey mad for CNY

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is offering an array of promotional activities, including cash coupon redemptions of up to HK$5,000 (US$641), to celebrate the upcoming year of the Monkey.

During February, travellers spending between HK$2,000 (US$256) and HK$50,000 (US$6,413) by electronic payment can redeem HKIA cash coupons of up to HK$5,000 (US$641). Designated retailers will also offer free red packet redemption on a first-come-first-served basis.

Passengers at Terminal 1 may see the HKIA mascot in a Year-of-the-Monkey costume giving out specially-designed Fai Chuns for free. On Level 6 of the Departures East Hall travellers will find a grand display box with a special selection of Chinese New Year products and an interactive-game booth.

More than 12,000 prizes as well as cash coupons and red packets could be won. Travellers spending over HK$1,000 (US$128) in a single transaction can enjoy free local delivery service.

There is also free delivery service to Mainland China, Macao and Taiwan for travellers who spend over HK$2,500 (US$320) on clothing, bags and accessories in a single transaction.
