Rémy Martin has opened a stunning display campaign at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to celebrate the timeless luxury of LOUIS XIII Cognac. Partnering with duty-free retailer Duty Zero by CDF-Lagardère on a bespoke shop-in-shop, LOUIS XIII has taken over HKIA’s main departures concourse with an expression of exceptional refinement.
LOUIS XIII LE MATHUSALEM DEBUTS IN HONG KONG
The stunning shop-in-shop brings the LOUIS XIII universe to life in a showcase of exquisite luxury. Located at the entrance to the main Duty Zero by CDF-Lagardère store, burnished metals, natural brushed oak and elegant touches of luminescent lighting create an environment that celebrates the life achievements of generations of cellar masters and the timeless heritage of the brand.
The centrepiece of the stage is LOUIS XIII Le Mathusalem. Making its debut at Hong Kong International Airport, each 6-litre Le Mathusalem decanter requires over 20 master craftsmen to produce – a feat of crystal craftsmanship for a monumental cognac, with up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie sourced entirely from Grande Champagne, the first cru of the Cognac region in South-west France. Only a very limited number of Le Mathusalem have ever been produced, each individually numbered.
Weighing an impressive 17 kilograms, Le Mathusalem is displayed in a captivating scaffolding installation, reflecting the craftsmanship and time taken to produce each bottle. As a backdrop, a digital screen plays a fascinating animation of the development of Hong Kong’s famous central skyline decades in the making. The sequence depicts the 100-year evolution of the cityscape as seen from Victoria Harbour.
The shop-in-shop exhibits the entire LOUIS XIII cognac collection, including rare limited editions such as the Time Collection and Le Jeroboam.
A calligraphy service allows clients to create customised gifts, with an expert calligrapher on site to personalise wishing messages.
The LOUIS XIII shop-in-shop will run at Hong Kong International Airport from March until the end of April 2019.
