Mumbai Duty Free is now Free, Bigger, Grander and with an all-new digital spin

With international travel recovering from the Pandemic-induced standstill, Mumbai Duty Free (MDF) welcomed back its travellers with a value proposition grander than ever before.

Timing it perfectly with the onset of festive season and with an objective to rekindle the spirit of duty-free shopping, the retailer re-launched its flagship campaign – Mumbai Duty Free Is Now Free, now bigger, grander and with an all-new digital spin!

New and evolved, the campaign aims to appease MDF customers with exclusive deals and unbelievable discounts from partner brands while ensuring minimal contact. Moving towards digitization, customers can now avail all partner brand’s discount vouchers digitally by simple scanning a barcode using their smartphones.

For the campaign, MDF partnered with popular downtown players across e-commerce, lifestyle, hospitality, personal care, travel & tourism and more. The carefully curated list of brand partners includes Beauty & Hair solution brand, a VIP chopper service brand, fashion & designer clothing portal, Luxury online shopping portal, Flight tickets partner, Food aggregator, Boutique chocolate brand and popular Cricket coaching online platform.

The panel of partner brands are carefully curated to ensure almost all important aspects of a customer consumption in the city, be it food, shopping, travel, beauty needs or passion for cricket, spoiling the customer for choice.

All customers spending INR 5000 and above at Mumbai Duty Free stores are eligible to receive a ‘Mumbai Duty Free Is Now Free’ gift card containing a barcode. Upon scanning the code, customers are redirected to an online form where they need to fill in their contact details. The brand vouchers are then generated instantly and sent to the customers via email. Collectively, the campaign offers customers discount vouchers worth more than INR 20,000, thereby providing value worth more than their spend in store.
