Virgin Atlantic has announced a partnership with Aviation American Gin, owned by Oscar-winning actor, Ryan Reynolds.

As the exclusive UK airline partner, the airline will serve Aviation Gin in Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses and on board.

Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson said: “Aviation Gin was born out of a spirit of innovation, so serving it on board Virgin Atlantic flights seemed like the perfect combination.”

Reynolds added: “We look forward to serving Virgin Atlantic guests for years to come and, on a personal note, Sir Richard has promised to teach me the difference between revenue and profit, so I am beyond excited.”

To celebrate the partnership, a selection of passengers on board Virgin Atlantic flights on Sunday September 30 will get a special mixology experience hosted by bartenders from some of the world’s best bars.

As part of the relationship, Sir Richard Branson and Ryan Reynolds appear in co-branded digital content – see film below.

The pair announced the gin would be available in Virgin’s clubhouses and on board its aircraft with a comical video. Reynolds jokingly misuses business jargon in the 90-second spot. Other videos alongside Branson are planned.

“At Aviation we’re totally focused on making the best damn gin on the planet,” Reynolds says in the ad. “In order to maximize shareholder value, we are pleased to announce Virgin Atlantic and Aviation are merging.”

He’s quickly corrected by Branson, “Actually, Ryan, this is more of a partnership announcement.”

“At first,” Reynolds adds, before suggesting that the two companies will now be called Aviavirgination, prompting Branson to walk off the set.
