Sipsmith Gin has launched a limited-edition, Wimbledon-inspired London Dry Gin bottle, available exclusively to Global Travel Retail, following the announcement that it is the Official Gin Partner of The Championships, Wimbledon 2021.
The spectacular 1 Litre Sipsmith Gin bottle is adorned with both Sipsmith’s swan and Wimbledon’s hawk, Rufus, who stand proudly head-to-head on the court while surrounded by iconic British emblems that are at the heart of Wimbledon. Both the swan and the hawk symbolise the extraordinary lengths both brands go to in pursuit of quality. The Sipsmith swan represents the part of the bespoke Sipsmith stills, that delivers the smooth, balanced quality of their gin. Rufus oversees Centre Court, ensuring there are no pigeons in sight, to protect the pristine grass!

The bottle, in homage to the partnership, will be available from June as a Global Travel Retail exclusive at selected UK airports, including London Heathrow, Stanstead and Luton. Travellers now have access to the distinctively smooth gin as a limited-edition collectible for all major tennis and gin fans.

As the Official Gin Partner to Wimbledon, this Sipsmith bottle undeniably stands apart from the rest, and sets the bar for the perfect exclusive relationship. This type of channel exclusivity, in fact, is a major growth factor to Global Travel Retail customers and has seen an increase in importance from 53% in 2020 to 62% this year.

Emerging from a spirited partnership, this bottle truly is a unique gin for Global Travel Retail customers and is the gateway to a unique shopping experience for travellers. It also marks the latest chapter in the gin pioneer’s epic 11-year story, as Sipsmith continues to go from strength-to-strength. In the Global Travel Retail channel alone, Sipsmith has shown a consistently strong performance, having grown in volume more than 24% in 2019, and by almost a third (30%) over the last three years.

To celebrate the brand-new limited-edition London Dry Gin bottle, Sipsmith has announced a new competition giving tennis fans and gin lovers the chance to win two pairs of Centre Court tickets and six pairs of Ground tickets to next year’s Championships.

To enter the competition, customers must buy a bottle of Sipsmith gin at any airport selling the brand-new Sipsmith London Dry Gin Wimbledon Limited Edition bottle and visit https://www.sipsmith.com/airport-com.

As part of Beam Suntory’s, Sipsmith’s and Wimbledon’s on-going commitment to bring our customers and consumers the ‘Perfect Serve’ this summer, we will be bringing a little bit of Centre Court to the global travel retail space. The bespoke activation in Heathrow terminal 2 during June and July will showcase all things quintessentially British, melding the heritage, tradition and craftsmanship of our gin with the most iconic tennis event on the planet. Travellers will have the option to have their Perfect Serve, while savouring a Sipsmith G&T and will also be given the opportunity to win Centre Court and Grounds Pass tickets for The Championships 2022.

Manuel Gonzalez, Brand Marketing Director at Beam Suntory Global Travel Retail, said: “We’re delighted to see this iconic Wimbledon-inspired London Dry Gin launching exclusively to Global Travel Retail channels and we’re confident that customers will love the new bottle, which we hope will transport them to a hot sunny day on the court with every sip.
“There’s no doubt that this limited-edition packaging in ode to one of the world’s greatest sports events will help drive further excitement among our shoppers and turn heads in stores.”

Fairfax Hall, Sipsmith Co-Founder, says of the partnership: “It is a genuine honour to become one of Wimbledon’s exclusive partners. We have a shared commitment to quality, integrity, and legacy creation, with people at the heart of all that we do. These values have undoubtedly led Wimbledon to become a pinnacle in international sport, and Sipsmith to have become a global benchmark for great quality gin. We could not be more delighted to be a part of the iconic Wimbledon experience, for many years to come”.
