Independent Irish producer Skellig Six18 is now available at Dublin and Cork airports through a partnership with Aer Rianta International (ARI).


The company’s new bilberry gin – which launched in summer 2023 and is made with bilberries (referred to as Fraochán in Ireland) grown near Skellig Six18’s distillery, in the town of Cahersiveen – will be exclusive to the two airports.

Other expressions in the range include Skellig Small Batch Irish Whiskey, Skellig Triple Cask Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey and Skellig Six18 Pot Still Gin.

Cathal O’Connor, commercial manager at Skellig Six18, commented: “With Dublin Airport handling over 80% of Ireland’s air traffic, it’s a crucial showcase for international visitors.

“We are excited to reach out to the 30 million passengers transiting annually, offering them a taste of Skellig Six18’s authentic Irish craft story for the first time, while simultaneously catering to our existing fan base.”

As well as securing these key domestic hubs, Skellig is available internationally in Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and the Netherlands.

The company picked up a Masters Medal at The Irish Whiskey Masters 2023, a Gold Medal at The Design & Packaging Masters 2023 and Gold again at The Gin Masters 2023 first tasting.

The brand was named after the 618 steps that were carved into Skellig Rock by monks during the sixth century. It began production in October 2019 and launched a visitor experience in 2020.
