Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail has the great privilege of introducing The Glenlivet Caskmakers; the newest release from the iconic Speyside single malt which will only be available in duty free stores from 1 May.

In the 200th anniversary year of The Glenlivet, the travel retail exclusive will be launched across Asia, the Pacific, the Americas, the Middle East, India and Europe in a truly global campaign. It will be amplified through all traveller touchpoints including impactful OOH sites and digital channels, high profile retail promotions and PMUs in key airport locations and duty free stores.

The Glenlivet Caskmakers new permanent GTRX answers the demand for unique and exclusive products for the channel, which has continued to increase in recent years. According to our research, purchases of unique or duty free exclusive products rose by +20% between 2019 and 2023. This is especially true for high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) who enjoy the thrill of the hunt and the moment of discovery in travel retail.

This distinguished Scotch whisky is the result of a remarkable feat in craftsmanship in which two casks are uniquely combined to deliver a complex interplay of flavours.

Exploring a novel technique in cask construction, the process sees two hand-selected barrels meticulously deconstructed and recrafted – combining alternating staves of the two – to create one new, reconstructed cask.

These distinctive new casks, which unite ex-Spanish Sherry and freshy charred European Oak barrels, have been skilfully developed by The Glenlivet’s experts in collaboration with master coopers based in Jerez, Spain. The intricate craftmanship exemplifies The Glenlivet’s longstanding spirit of innovation and brings with it new depths of flavour.

 

Whisky enthusiasts tasting The Glenlivet Caskmakers will uncover flavour notes of ripe orchard fruits, fresh honey, warming spices, and hints of charred pineapple. Thanks to the whisky’s painstaking craft, which sees a portion selectively finished in the bespoke casks, these flavours combine even more seamlessly, producing a single malt that not only stands as a testament to the art of originality but celebrates the power of collaboration.

The Glenlivet Caskmakers will be available exclusively in selected duty free stores in airports and travel hubs around the globe from May 2024.

It will also be showcased at the upcoming TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference taking place at the world-famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel and Convention Centre in Singapore from 16 May, where visitors will have the opportunity to toast the exquisite new liquid.
