L’Oréal Paris announced today that social media star Thylane Blondeau is its latest brand ambassador.

The influencer and model has just celebrated her 16th birthday, and now will be helping the cosmetics giant is looking to tap into the generation Z market. She has over 1M followers on Instagram.

The deal isn’t Blondeau’s first time working with L’Oréal Paris. The beauty was apparently a “friend of the brand,” having “joined the ‘Lorealista Squad’ for her first red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival” last year. Blondeau, who’s signed to IMG Worldwide, follows in the footsteps of major mods du moment, including Irina Shayk, Karlie Kloss, Barbara Palvin, and others. She has also been featured in the pages of Teen Vogue, in addition to covering L’Officiel. As part of her new role, Blondeau is slated to appear in campaigns across L’Oréal Paris’ hair, makeup, and skincare categories, starting with the brand’s Hydra Genius line.

A connected muse

She may only be 16 years old, but Thylane Blondeau is far from a novice in the world of fashion and modeling. In fact, she landed her first modeling job aged just four years old, starring in a Jean Paul Gaultier catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week. The model’s young age is an added boon for the beauty brand, whose latest ambassador grew up with social media, perfectly mastering her image and online communication. Thylane Blondeau is present on Snapchat, Twitter and Facebook, and has no less than a million followers on Instagram.
