TUMI has announced the opening of its new store side-by-side with Samsonite in the airside departures area at Milan Linate Airport.
The crisp white 90 m2 store is located in a prime position visible to all passengers as they emerge from passport control in an area dedicated to luxury brands.
The TUMI store will feature a carefully curated selection of travel, business and lifestyle bags and accessories, including some of the latest lines in the Fall/Winter 2017 portfolio.
Damien Mignot, TUMI General Director Europe, commented: “Our new shop at Milan Linate airport will give TUMI access to the huge number of business and leisure passengers who pass through this Italian hub each day. We have chosen to showcase a wide selection of pieces from our latest collections, including totes, backpacks, accessories, electronics, carry-ons and some large travel pieces which we are confident will appeal to these fast-moving global citizens.”
Among the featured collections will be the TUMI TLX collection of travel pieces which has been launched this summer in response to the emerging trend for fusing business with leisure travel – known as “bleisure”. Constructed in Europe with multiple polycarbonate layers coupled with a subtle scratch resistant matte coating, the TLX collection is a lightweight yet durable product. The highlight of the collection is the TLX International Carry-On (226007), a slim and lightweight cabin bag with an easy-access main compartment divided into two zipped pockets that is the perfect companion for short trips.
Since its launch, TUMI’s 19 Degree collection of aluminum luggage has become a travel staple for style mavens on the go. A masterful combination of form following function, of luxury and innovation, this collection is the pinnacle of travel gear. Offered in International Carry-On (36860), Short Trip Packing Case (36864) and Extended Trip Packing Case (36869) sizes, this aluminum assortment features a reinforced frame-case design and die-cast corner caps for additional protection.
Alpha 2 continues to elevate the business experience with a light, strong assortment of soft travel and business bags that are sleeker in profile and smarter in functionality than their predecessors. The durable T-Pass® Business Class Brief Pack (26578) in Earl Grey or Navy, for example, is a cool alternative to classic Black and boasts the patented T-Pass technology which is designed to meet TSA checkpoint requirements allowing the user to go through security without removing his laptop from the bag.
Also showcased in the new Milan Linate store, the Alpha Bravo assortment of business, leisure and travel pieces was made to transition seamlessly between work and everyday use. The iconic Luke Backpack (222688), for instance, is the perfect everyday companion, a great combination of form and function.
The Ashton collection of backpacks, briefs, carry-ons and duffels, such as the Morrison Backpack (333256), is an array of luxurious styles with a relaxed, sporty attitude in a sophisticated execution for today’s traveller.
The Voyageur collection takes shape with a mix of bold prints and accents of colour. Each style, executed in nylon, is an elegant example of simplicity and purpose. The Calais Backpack (484704), on display in the Milan Linate store, is TUMI’s iconic model with a roomy interior and multiple organisational options including a padded laptop compartment and quick access mobile telephone pocket.
The Sinclair collection is updated for Fall featuring an assortment of streamlined bags with polished hardware and a colour palette grounded in Black and Earl Grey.
