With over 5 million vending machines nationwide, Japan is the country with the highest density of this consumer goods automated boxes and Uniqlo — a Japanese casual wear designer — is no stranger to this.

After building the world’s biggest vending machine at their Harajuku store — sadly no longer there — they now return with the Uniqlo to go, a vending machine containing clothes for travellers and passersby to be installed inside airports and shopping malls.

Launched earlier this week at California’s Oakland International Airport, the Uniqlo to go vending machine stocks two of their most popular products both from the LifeWear collection: the thermal heat-tech t-shirt and the ultra light down jacket. Available in different sizes and colours, people who decide to buy from the vending machine can do it through a touch screen. As for the return policy, unwanted items can be returned at the shops or by mail.

The machine stocks two items from the LifeWear collection: the thermal heat-tech t-shirt and the ultra light down jacket. The Uniqlo to go vending machine is easily operated through a touchscreen.

Uniqlo’s plan is to continue installing vending machines in the next two months. Locations include Hollywood & Highland Center in Los Angeles, Houston Airport, and Queens Center in New York.
