Wild Tiger – India’s first super premium rum is ready to roar

After trade launches in the UK & UAE, Wild Tiger, India’s first premium rum has launched at Bengaluru duty free and has plans to go global.

WILD TIGER, a brand conceptualized and owned by Indian drinks entrepreneur Mr. Gautom Menon is not only unique in terms of its stand out packaging but also for the delicious liquid inside. Wild Tiger is also India’s first rum to be produced from a blend of molasses and cane spirit.

Speaking about the brand, Mr. Gautom Menon, Chief Brand Officer, Wild Tiger Beverages said, “Wild Tiger Special Reserve Rum is a dark Rum with 42.8% abv. It’s unlike any other Indian rum because of its unique characteristics. Traditional Indian rum is usually just 100% molasses. Wild Tiger predominately has the same base but it is also blended with some percentage of cane juice spirit, which gives the final blend a lot of aromatic notes and depth in flavour. And this blend makes Wild Tiger uniquely delectable or as we like to call it “RUMTASTIC”.”

The idea and the cause behind it make Wild Tiger special. Mr Menon added, “Innovation and social responsibility are at the heart of everything we do at Wild Tiger Beverages and we approached this with a mantra “Think out of the bottle”. The captivating velvet Tiger print sleeve is made using recycled materials.

One of the most distinctive aspects of the WILD TIGER packaging is just as no two Tigers share similar stripe patterns, the stripe design of the sleeve has been tactically designed and cut to ensure that no two bottle designs are alike, making each bottle unique to its owner.

Wild Tiger also donates 10% of its profits towards tiger conservation in South India where they work with other established NGO’s on the ground and with prominent Tiger experts.

The brand is slated for registrations in the USA and will also be available in UK and Canada before April 2016. Followed by Thailand, Australia, Denmark and Maldives. “Our goal is to have extensive presence in at least 16 countries by the end of 2016 – and listings with all the leading Duty Free operators.” said Mr. Menon.

“We couldn’t have hoped for a better partner than Dufry at Bangalore (the company that runs Bengaluru Duty Free) to make our foray into travel retail. Dufry are the world’s largest duty free operator with over 1,700 duty-free shops around the world.”

Wild Tiger is priced in Duty Free at $20 per bottle in the Indian sub continent region. Wild Tiger is also the first Indian liquor brand to join travel retail industry association APTRA this year as a supplier to the industry, and plans to exhibit at the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition in Singapore this May.
