{"id":10593,"date":"2016-01-28T15:23:04","date_gmt":"2016-01-28T15:23:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dutyfreehunter.com\/blog\/?p=10593"},"modified":"2019-01-23T10:35:04","modified_gmt":"2019-01-23T10:35:04","slug":"10593-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dutyfreehunter.com\/blog\/10593-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Rock Oyster reveals Cask Strength Limited Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Leading independent Scotch whisky specialist, Douglas Laing &amp; Co, has announced the release of a limited edition Cask Strength bottling of their Rock Oyster Island Malt Scotch whisky.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Douglas Laing\u2019s original Rock Oyster bottling (46.8% ABV) launched in January 2015, and was a blend of Island malts, including those from Jura, Islay, Arran and Orkney.<\/p>\n<p>The new Rock Oyster Cask Strength Limited Edition (57.4% ABV) is said to deliver a massive amplification of all the coastal qualities from the original, with a maritime flavour profile of sea salt, sweet peat and cracked black pepper.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the new limited release, Fred Laing, Douglas Laing\u2019s Managing Director, said: \u201cFor Rock Oyster Cask Strength, I\u2019ve selected a range of casks from the Islands and lovingly vatted them together to create a blast of sea air on the nose and a tempestuously oceanic storm on the palate. Anticipate a big peat hit full of Islay phenols, iodine and coal dust, with a shake of pepper softening to a distinct honey sweetness from the Arran casks.
