The latest instalment in Bruichladdich\u2019s The Laddie range, is an eight-year-old Scotch matured in American and European oak in a warehouse right on Loch Indaal. It will be sold exclusively in duty-free stores.<\/p>\n

Bottled at 50% abv, the whisky is said to offer notes of apple, pear, and \u201csubtle layers of oak\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Laddie Eight was released by head distiller Adam Hannett, with the aim of preserving the \u201celegant, floral\u201d notes of the young spirit.<\/p>\n

Bruichladdich is situated on Islay, the Hebrides, and is the island\u2019s largest private employer, with 85 members of staff.\u00a0The distillery says its Laddie range \u201cconsistently undermines the myth that \u2018the older a whisky gets, the better it becomes\u2019.\u201d\u00a0All its whiskies, including The Laddie Eight, are non-chill-filtered and bottled at natural colour.<\/p>\n

The Laddie Eight will be available exclusively in travel retail from April 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n
