The Montblanc M collection of writing instruments which was designed in collaboration with superstar designer Marc Newson has been awarded the high prestigious Red Dot award for product design.<\/p>\n

The Montblanc M collection was awarded for the Red Dot: Best of the Best, which is the top prize in the Red Dot Award: Product Design. This prize is reserved for the best products in a category.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the first ever design partnership in the Maison\u2019s long history, Montblanc has chosen to work with Marc Newson<\/a>, without a doubt the most influential designer of his generation,\u201d says J\u00e9r\u00f4me Lambert, Montblanc\u2019s CEO. \u201cMontblanc M brings together Newson\u2019s trademark biomorphic style, defined by its fluid and pure organic forms, and Montblanc\u2019s iconic design cues.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Newson has retained the distinctive design elements of a Montblanc writing instrument \u2013 the use of black precious resin, the iconic white emblem \u2013 the shape of the Montblanc M has a distinctive \u2018plateau\u2019 at the end, created by milling the resin with a diamond tool. For the first time ever, the M collection adds a function to the writing utensil, a Fineliner pen for technical and precision drawing. The gold nib, additionally, is here plated in two tones, using both rhodium and ruthenium.<\/p>\n

Montblanc M\u00a0is available in Fountain Pen, Rollerball, Ballpoint Pen, ScreenWriter for use on touch screens\u00a0and as a thin Montblanc Artfineliner for technical drawing. During the launch year only, the nib\u00a0is engraved with the letters \u201cMN\u201d as a tribute to the designer who imagined this latest evolution\u00a0in writing culture.<\/p>\n
