In celebration of La Mer\u2019s Blue Heart and World\u00a0Oceans Day, a 100ml jar of Cr\u00e8me de la Mer with\u00a0a new limited-edition sea-inspired design will be\u00a0available June 2016. The jar will be inscribed with\u00a0\u2018Blue Heart\u2019 to commemorate the brand\u2019s ongoing\u00a0inspiration from the ocean\u2019s beauty and its goal\u00a0of raising awareness about the precious blue heart\u00a0of our planet.<\/p>\n

World Oceans Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

Created in 1992 and made official by\u00a0the United Nations in 2009, World\u00a0Oceans Day takes place annually on\u00a0June 8. It serves as a time to recognise\u00a0the importance of the sea as a vital\u00a0ecosystem and to take action to preserve\u00a0its delicate habitats and wildlife.<\/p>\n

For over a decade\u00a0La Mer has been committed to supporting\u00a0the protection of ocean habitats. In\u00a02014, La Mer established Blue Heart,\u00a0a philanthropic global effort to celebrate\u00a0the ocean and share a deeper\u00a0understanding of how essential it\u00a0is to our own lives.\u00a0This year, La Mer continues its partnership\u00a0with National Geographic Society\u00a0to help support the next generation of\u00a0ocean explorers.\u00a0Through this partnership, National\u00a0Geographic Explorer-in-Residence\u00a0Dr. Sylvia Earle will share her ocean\u00a0inspiration and expertise through\u00a0a cinematic short film. Explorer, pioneer\u00a0and visionary, Dr. Earle reminds us\u00a0that the ocean has the power to both\u00a0enchant us and change our lives.<\/p>\n

Ocean as Muse<\/strong><\/p>\n

La Mer will also partner with influencers\u00a0from around the world to create a series\u00a0of vignettes that illustrate how the ocean\u00a0serves as their muse to stimulate their\u00a0passions and creativity.\u00a0To further celebrate the ocean as\u00a0a source of inspiration, La Mer invites\u00a0consumers to share their own personal\u00a0story and connection to the sea through\u00a0the #LaMerBlueHeart campaign. \u201cWe\u2019ve all been touched by the ocean\u00a0in some way and each of us has\u00a0an inspiring story to share with\u00a0the world,\u201d said Sandra Main, Global\u00a0Brand President of La Mer. \u201cLa Mer\u00a0hopes that sharing these stories\u00a0will raise awareness and educate\u00a0consumer on the importance of healthy\u00a0ocean habitats.\u201d<\/p>\n
