McQueen Parfum, the first official fragrance by Alexander McQueen –\u00a0one of the world’s most coveted luxury brands –\u00a0is making its global debut in the Middle East. McQueen Parfum will be exclusively available to travellers and consumers in the UAE at the Dubai Duty Free, Dubai International Airport from 1st \u2013 30th June.<\/p>\n

Present at the inaugural launch of McQueen Parfum was Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free together with Procter & Gamble (P&G) officials. With McQueen Parfum, the dark poise of McQueen translates beautifully to a powerful new fragrance under the directorship of Sarah Burton, with a true declaration of quality. \u201cI wanted this fragrance to come from night flowers, the kind that exude an eternal freshness once the day is gone,\u201d explained Sarah Burton. \u201cTo make up for their lack of colour, the scent of the Sambac Jasmine, Tuberose and Ylang Ylang are most powerful at night to attract their pollinator. People forget that these flowers become newly modern every day; that even as they\u2019ve faded, they soon regenerate and flower, shaping the air with their scent. Here at McQueen, we are all about discoveries and the eternal blossom; originality in an atmosphere of tradition, craft, and daring.\u201d<\/p>\n

McQueen Parfum takes a vintage spirit and gives it a stunningly modern architecture. The key ingredients are Sambac Jasmine, Tuberose and Ylang Ylang, star ingredients from the golden age of perfumery. A fresh and vital interpretation of tradition is established by combining them with pink pepper and vetiver derived using state of the art extraction techniques. The night-blooming floral notes are subtly mysterious yet commanding as never before. In the history of great perfumery, the secret is to take these powers and make them new.<\/p>\n

McQueen Parfum has the complexity and architecture to become a part of the personality of the wearer. Its top notes are spices \u2014 black pepper, clove and pink pepper \u2014 layered on top of the delicate petals of the night blooming flowers that compose the heart. Burton is determined that every aspect of McQueen Parfum should exude quality, craftsmanship, and mystery. The parfum flacon is a small work of art, heavy but fragile, tactile and beautiful in the hand, with thin, even dark glass and a thick base. The facetted cap is polished and lacquered with precision. Round the crown of the bottle are antiqued gold feathers, a signature of the house, it also symbolises craftsmanship as well as elevation and ethereal beauty.
