As previewed on Duty Free Hunter (see story<\/a>) Tommy Hilfiger has announced the launch of THE GIRL by Tommy Hilfiger,\u00a0a new eau de parfum and campaign featuring Gigi Hadid, Tommy Hilfiger\u2019s global ambassador for womenswear, accessories\u00a0and fragrance. Launching in July\u00a02016 in travel retail, the new scent is anchored in a dynamic digital campaign, which reflects her optimistic\u00a0attitude, confidence and effortlessly cool style. As part of her ambassadorship, Hadid has also teamed with the iconic\u00a0American designer to create her first capsule collection, which further celebrates her modern take on style fused with\u00a0Hilfiger\u2019s signature \u201cclassic American cool\u201d heritage.<\/p>\n

The scent opens with a\u00a0burst of green pear, violet leaf and green fig leaves before moving\u00a0to the heart of velvety jasmine petals and silky muguet. Cedarwood\u00a0and cashmeran envelop the fragrance for its signature finish that\u00a0captures Hadid\u2019s unique sense of individuality and confidence.<\/p>\n

THE GIRL by Tommy Hilfiger advertising campaign will be unveiled in July 2016 with dedicated print and online media\u00a0placements worldwide, and it will be further complemented by an extensive digital program shared globally via Tommy\u00a0Hilfiger\u2019s and Gigi Hadid\u2019s social channels. Inspired by Hilfiger\u2019s iconic East Coast aesthetic fused with Hadid\u2019s relaxed\u00a0Californian twist that\u2019s laidback and cool, the campaign was shot by photographer Mikael Jansson in New York City.<\/p>\n

THE GIRL by Tommy Hilfiger Eau de Parfum will be available at Travel Retail locations in Europe, The Middle East and Africa\u00a0from July 2016 and in Asia Pacific from August 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fragrance packaging boasts Tommy Hilfiger\u2019s signature nautical theme, with a brightly-coloured anchor and a golden cap\u00a0inspired by the buttons on a sailor\u2019s coat.<\/p>\n

Dubbed a \u201csocial supermodel,\u201d Hadid has been credited with reshaping the world of modeling in the 21st century, and\u00a0reinventing the role of the supermodel in millennial culture. Through the incredible reach of her social media channels,\u00a0she connects with fans around the world \u2013 over 15 million on Instagram alone \u2013 and offers them a unique, \u201cbehind-the scenes\u201d\u00a0glimpse into her lifestyle as a trend-setting style icon.
