Tiffany & Co.\u00a0tapped the hot\u00a0designer for a seven-piece fine jewellery collection launching this November.<\/p>\n

Eddie Borgo is a force. He\u2019s collaborated with everyone from Phillip Lim to Proenza Schouler and Joseph Altuzarra, and counts Julia Roitfeld among his devoted supporters. His architectural forms have taken over luxury shops worldwide since the brand\u2019s launch in 2008, but Borgo\u2019s approach to design and life is as much like a fashion mogul as it is a sensitive interpreter of modern forms.<\/p>\n

Tiffany & Co. has literally been a household name for Eddie Borgo for as long as he can remember.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrowing up as an American with a mother who wore [Elsa] Peretti and a grandmother who wore [Jean] Schlumberger, I have had Tiffany in my life in some ways since I was a very small child,\u201d said Borgo. \u201cWe had Tiffany crystal and Tiffany silver in our home.\u201d His mother bought baby rattles and silver spoons as gifts wrapped in blue boxes tied with white bows.<\/p>\n

Borgo\u2019s relationship has progressed beyond consumer and fan of the brand. His first seven-piece fine jewellery capsule collection for the company launches in November at Tiffany\u2019s Fifth Avenue flagship in Manhattan as well as on tiffany.com<\/a> for a limited time. This is a big deal for Borgo, who introduced his costume and fashion jewellery label in 2008 and expanded into handbags a year ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cTiffany has a legacy in terms of jewelry and that, in my humble opinion, is untouchable by any other American company,\u201d said Borgo. \u201cTo have our name associated with their brand is such a huge gift.\u201d<\/p>\n
