What goes around comes around at Herm\u00e8s: The brand has lifted a Robert Dallet-designed archive \u00c9quateur Tatouage scarf print from 1988 for a new limited-edition Single Tour band for its Apple Watch collection. The launch \u2013 ahead of the holiday season \u2013 is the first printed Apple Watch strap for the house.<\/p>\n
The handcrafted band is designed to be worn with any of the Herm\u00e8s and Apple-designed watch faces based on the iconic Clipper, Cape Cod, and Espace Herm\u00e8s styles. The band is adorned with a silvery take on the scarf motif, printed on black calfskin.<\/p>\n
The strap is available to buy in Herm\u00e8s stores and the house\u2019s e-commerce site\u00a0now.<\/p>\n
The Herm\u00e8s \u00c9quateur tatouage motif has resurfaced across a variety of Herm\u00e8s collections over the years, including on re-editions of the scarf and in homewear designs such as plates and cushions. It also features on the footwear collection from the house\u2019s current Autumn 2016 RTW\u00a0collection under creative director Nad\u00e8ge Vanhee-Cybulski.<\/p>\n
Herm\u00e8s, which launched its first Herm\u00e8s Apple Watch in September 2015, and Nike are the only fashion and lifestyle brands to have collaborated with the tech giant on the watch. Thom Browne, Sacai and Toms are among the labels to have designed straps for the smart accessory.<\/p>\n
Apple chief executive officer Tim Cook has said the brand\u2019s connected timepiece has \u201cchanged what people expect from a watch,\u201d and noted the Apple Watch is the world\u2019s top-selling smart watch and the second most popular watch brand in the world after Rolex.<\/p>\n
