To mark the Chinese Year of the Rooster and delight Chinese aficionados around the globe, Davidoff Cigars will be introducing a highly exclusive Year of the Rooster 2017 Limited Edition.

“Who better to herald in the dawn of a New Year than the Rooster? Just as the Rooster’s call awakens us, so will this limited edition cigar awaken our senses. First, visually, from the moment the lush, shiny red box is opened to reveal the magnificent dark brown gold-ringed cigars, and then through its exceptional taste and lush aromas. This cigar represents the best of Davidoff and, like the Rooster’s key traits of loyalty and friendship, it promises to deliver a cherished memorable moment of Time Beautifully Filled,” exclaimed Charles Awad, Senior Vice President for Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff AG.

From sunrise to sunset, the Rooster likes to be the centre of everyone’s circle. They charm. They amuse. With a fine Davidoff cigar and an anecdote always at hand, they are comfortable holding court. They are indeed popular. Always beautifully turned out, their plumage sets them apart. However, behind their beauty is loyalty and fidelity. A Rooster is dutiful and devoted, a friend for life. They keep their promises and their appointments. You can trust the Rooster to be there for you and to be there on time, and probably with a gift such as this elegant limited edition box inspired by the vivid colour of the Rooster’s eye-catching appearance. A Rooster would catch the moon just to make those they love happy. They like people to feel special – as special as they feel. After all, the world cannot wake until it hears the Rooster’s call.

Flavour and tobacco notes

These exclusive cigars have been crafted using the rarest and most precious ingredient — Time. Their blend is sophisticated and composed of Piloto Seco, San Vicente Visus, Piloto Visus and Criollo Seco, all seed-grown in the Dominican Republic, resulting in a beautifully balanced taste experience that yields nougat and hazelnut flavours with a well-pronounced luscious creaminess. The wrapper is “Habano Ecuador”, a seed grown in Ecuador, and the binder is San Vicente Mejorado grown in the Dominican Republic. Each cigar has a shiny, oily, dark brown wrapper and an eye-catching second ring in red with a gold foil pattern and Rooster icon with a holographic effect, which will certainly be appreciated by collectors. The cigars are presented in pairs, in five cedar wood compartments. Just 8,000 of these glossy lacquered red and dark wood boxes with a subtle pattern embossing on the top lid, suggesting the fan-shape of a feather in the Rooster’s plumage, will be available worldwide. Inside are ten cigars in refined Diademas Finas format, reflecting Davidoff’s commitment to craftsmanship.
