Blended Scotch whisky Royal Salute has joined forces with a London-based designer to create a limited release 30-year-old Flask Edition. <\/p>\n

The limited edition package includes a 30-year-old Royal Salute expression plus a porcelain flask, funnel and wooden serving tray designed by award-winning designer Afroditi Krassa. It is available to purchase from select high-end retailers globally for around US$790 (\u00a3620).<\/p>\n

The blue porcelain flask designed by Krassa accompanies the whisky bottle of the same material, and comes with a matching funnel for easy pouring, and a minimal wooden tray for presentation. The set is imagined to enhance the whisky-drinking experience, doubling as a travel kit to enjoy Royal Salute on the move.<\/p>\n

\u2018Each time I start a new project I want to challenge the status quo,\u2019 explains the designer. \u2018That\u2019s why I was so inspired by Royal Salute, while all other whisky brands are content with glass, Royal Salute houses its whisky in precious porcelain.\u2019 Krassa explains that she wanted to apply the same idea to the flask, creating something in keeping with the brand\u2019s tradition and mixing this with a modern product.<\/p>\n

\u2018Ceramics have a rich history,\u2019 continues the architect, \u2018and for me this project presented a really interesting contrast of ancient techniques crafted for a modern audience.\u2019<\/p>\n

Peter Moore, global prestige brand director at Chivas Brothers, owner of Royal Salute, described the limited edition release as the \u2018perfect travel accessory\u2019 for those frequently on the move.<\/p>\n

This launch follows on from the debut of a new Royal Salute 21-year-old Polo Edition earlier this month (see story<\/a>), which is currently available in DFS duty-free stores at Singapore Changi airport and is set to launch globally in duty-free later this year.<\/p>\n
