Teeling Whiskey Company is set to release a 34-year-old whiskey \u2013 thought to be the oldest Irish single malt in the world.<\/p>\n
First distilled in 1983, the expression is aged in ex-American oak Bourbon barrels and bottled at 40.9% abv.<\/p>\n
The single malt is described as having a \u201ccomplex floral nose\u201d with \u201cdeep layered flavours\u201d as a result of its lengthy maturation.<\/p>\n
Bacardi moved into Irish whiskey with the purchase of a minority stake in The Teeling Whiskey Company in June last year. The brand is distributed in the US through Southern Glazer\u2019s Wine & Spirits as a result of the deal.<\/p>\n
Jack Teeling, founder of the Teeling Whiskey Company, commented: \u201cWe are extremely proud to be able to release some of the oldest ever bottlings of Irish single malt in partnership with Bacardi in the US, which is now the largest market in the world for Irish whiskey.<\/p>\n

Limited to 38 bottles, Teeling 34 Year Old has a suggested retail price of US$5,000. It will be available in the US from 1 March.<\/p>\n
