Founded in 1991, the brand best known for its red-soled shoes has signed a global licensing agreement with the Catalan group for the design, development and distribution of its beauty lines which were first launched in 2014.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The long-term deal is the first of its kind for the luxury brand, which launched its beauty division five years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Puig will now be responsible for the creation, development and distribution of Christian Louboutin beauty products.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Louboutin, said: \u201cWhen I first met Marc and Manuel Puig, I immediately understood we had a lot in common.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are both a family business, we talk the same language and we are both passionate about what we do. Puig will be able to develop my vision of beauty according to the brand values.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Marc Puig, CEO of Puig, added: \u201cWe are delighted to sign this agreement with Christian Louboutin. We respect his brand and creativity, and we want to build on his original and innovative presence in the beauty territory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Puig is the best partner to bring our beauty business to the next level while understanding and protecting our DNA and keeping our existing high positioning in the market. Its products are high end and presented in theatrical packaging, with nail polishes retailing for 50 euros a piece.<\/p>\n<p>With men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s shoe collections and a complete line of handbags and small leather goods, Christian Louboutin currently operates 140 boutiques around the world.<\/p>\n<p>For its part, Puig \u2013 which reported revenues of 1.79 billion euros in 2016, a 9% increase over the previous year \u2013 is expanding in the beauty sector.
