The Skytrax World Airport Awards are voted for by air travellers in the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. The survey is operated as an independent study, with no entry fees or charges to any airport, and the Awards ceremony is also provided to winning airports at no cost. The use of award logos and related information is free of any charge.<\/p>\n
The 2018 Awards are based on 13.73 million airport survey questionnaires completed by over 100 different nationalities of airline customers during the survey period. The survey operated from August 2017 to February 2018, covering 550 airports worldwide and evaluating traveller experiences across different airport service and product key performance indicators – from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration through to departure at the gate. The Survey was available in English, Spanish and Chinese language options.<\/p>\n
The Awards follow a record-breaking 2017 for Heathrow where investments in facilities, along with the team\u2019s dedication to service, led to the airport\u2019s best annual passenger satisfaction scores and highest number of passengers – 78 million \u2013 to date.<\/span><\/p>\n Nearly all (82%) of passengers surveyed in 2017 rated their Heathrow experience as \u2018Excellent\u2019 or \u2018Very Good.\u2019 Heathrow\u2019s operational team this year has worked to improved flight punctuality so now a record 80.2% of flights depart within 15 minutes of theirscheduled departure. Passengers in Terminal 5 enjoyed new terminal offers in 2017 like the \u2018First Wing\u2019 fast-track, dedicated security lanes to the British Airways\u2019 lounge.<\/p>\n Heathrow Chief Commercial Officer Ross Baker said:<\/p>\n \u201cTo have two of our terminals be voted amongst the world\u2019s top five is testament to the hard work our team has done to transform Heathrow for the better.<\/p>\n We are tremendously pleased our passengers are not only voting for us through these awards \u2013 but also with their feet \u2013 as we saw with this year\u2019s record breaking numbers.<\/p>\n Going forward, we will continue to invest in Heathrow to give passengers an enjoyable, reliable and affordable journey every time they travel through the airport.\u201d<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.dutyfreehunter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/heathrow_175811027392655-1024x682.jpg\")
