World Duty Free, the UK\u2019s leading duty-free brand, is the first duty-free retailer to personally select a special cask of BenRiach Single Malt to be offered to travellers passing through London\u2019s Heathrow Airport.<\/p>\n
The 12 year-old BenRiach Whisky was chosen specifically to be available for purchase during this year\u2019s Heathrow Whisky Festival<\/a> that runs through June 26, 2018. Bottles of this special single malt will be available in the liquor departments of World Duty Free<\/a>\u2019s main tax and duty-free stores and also its World of Whiskies stores in all terminals at Heathrow Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n This is the first time that Brown-Forman, the parent company of BenRiach, has cooperated with the selection of an individual BenRiach cask by a travel retail operator. A combined team of World Duty Free tasters and a group of spirits enthusiasts from the Heathrow Airport team made the selection.<\/p>\n As a one-time travel retail exclusive, there will be a select number of the special bottles of BenRiach available at Heathrow Airport on a first-come basis making them a must for whisky aficionados and collectors.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are very excited to be partnering with our friends at World Duty Free and London Heathrow on this exclusive Whisky Festival offering. BenRiach has a reputation as a very progressive distillery that holds some of the most experimental casks in the Speyside region of Scotland. We think this special cask selected for the Heathrow Whisky Festival will contribute to that reputation,\u201d explained Eric Helms, vice president and director of marketing for Brown-Forman Global Travel Retail.<\/p>\n Tasting notes for the selected cask describe it as a BenRiach 12 year-old single malt distilled in 2005 in an Oloroso cask giving it a rich amber color with a nose of honeycomb, chocolate and honey-colored dates and a palate of dark chocolate, herbs, honey-coated almonds and figs.<\/p>\n Paul Martin, Global Liquor Manager at Dufry comments \u201cWe are always looking for new opportunities in the whisky category, and single cask bottlings offer something truly unique for our customers, Working with Brown Forman on this opportunity to select a cask from Benriach, has been very exciting for all involved. The distillery was founded in 1898 by John Duff who had travelled to Kentucky and South Africa in pursuit of whisky adventures and returned with a superior knowledge of and a bold approach to the art of distillation and cask maturation.
