Super-premium blended Scotch Royal Salute has launched the 28-year-old Kew Palace Edition, a limited edition entry in the whisky\u2019s annual Flask Collection.<\/p>\n
The release is designed to honour London\u2019s Kew Palace, paying homage to the palace\u2019s kitchen gardens with notes of \u2018scented flora like violet and aromatic leaves\u2019 on the nose.<\/p>\n
Bottled at 40% abv, the blend is said to be \u2018rich, round and silky\u2019 and balances \u2018Royal Salute\u2019s signature style with super-rich fruits\u2019 on the palate.<\/p>\n
The whisky is the result of a collaboration between Royal Salute\u2019s director of blending, Sandy Hyslop, and perfumer Barnab\u00e9 Fillion. The pair nosed \u2018countless\u2019 whiskies to capture their olfactory interpretation of the Kew Palace kitchen gardens.<\/p>\n
The ceramic flagon also depicts Kew Palace as drawn by illustrator Jason Brooks, while the whisky is packaged with a ceramic hip flask for drinkers to enjoy \u2018on the move\u2019.<\/p>\n
The bottling is part of Royal Salute\u2019s ongoing support of the charity Historic Royal Palaces, which is charged with conserving Britain\u2019s royal palaces for future generations.<\/p>\n
Royal Salute Kew Palace Edition will be available for a limited time at select luxury whisky retailers worldwide, priced at US$790.<\/p>\n
