BenRiach distillery is adding a new permanent single malt to its range of peated whiskies, BenRiach Temporis 21 Year Old.

The latest addition to its peated range is named after the word \u2018time\u2019 in Latin, to emulate the original character and flavour of Speyside malts in the nineteenth century.<\/p>\n
To create the new expression master blender, Rachel Barrie, has married together a mix of four casks: Bourbon barrels, virgin oak, Pedro Ximinez sherry and Oloroso sherry casks. Temporis is also designed to complement its unpeated equivalent, BenRiach Aged 21 Years, which is also matured in four types of cask.<\/p>\n
Barrie said: \u201cThis four cask matured and peated combination produces a superbly balanced malt, retaining BenRiach\u2019s signature sweet, fruit-laden and peated tradition. Its smooth, creamy peat flavour builds to uncover roasted orchard fruits and eucalyptus, then tropical pineapple and star anise appear, lingering into a sweet and smoky finish.\u201d<\/p>\n
BenRiach Temporis 21 is being released globally from June, and will be available from specialist whisky retailers for around \u00a3135.. The non-chill filtered whisky is 46% abv.<\/strong><\/p>\n The BenRiach Distllery was created in 1898 by founder John Duff. The company distills three malt whisky styles: peated, unpeated and triple distilled.
