Loch Lomond Whiskies has created an exclusive Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask bottling in partnership with Muscat Duty Free. Just 268 bottles of the 10-year-old Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask have been created to celebrate the recent launch of Muscat International Airport’s new terminal.

The terminal, which opened in March, was created to increase capacity and offer an enhanced passenger experience. It features 6,200sq m retail space, which is almost three times the size of previous terminal’s shopping area.

The Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask bottling will only be available at Muscat Duty Free.

The non-chill filtered Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in the Loch Lomond Distillery’s unique straight neck pot stills in January 2008 and matured in a recharred American hogshead cask before being bottled at cask strength – 54.4% ABV – in February 2018.

On the nose, the Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask is fruity and sweet with a hint of warming oak spice. The palate offers layers of melted brown sugar, peach and pear, before a lemon zestiness gives way to a ginger and cinnamon spice finish.

André de Almeida, Managing Director of Global Travel Retail at Loch Lomond Group, said: “We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to create this limited-edition Loch Lomond Inchmurrin Single Cask, which is exclusive to Muscat Duty Free.

“Single cask bottlings are very special and only undertaken with select partners. Muscat Duty Free now has something unique to offer its customers.”

Martin Mullen General Manager of Muscat Duty free added: “We were honoured to have the Inchmurrin Single Cask as an exclusive bottling for our new shops at Muscat International Airport.

“It has been received very well and we are planning to continue this partnership with Loch Lomond so that we can deliver quality exclusive products for our customers.”

Founded in 1814, Loch Lomond Whiskies can trace its roots back to the Littlemill distillery, which was established in 1772 and is thought to be one of the oldest distilleries in the world. Loch Lomond’s current malt distillery, in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, close to the shores of Loch Lomond, went into production in 1966 and is one of a few in the industry to maintain an onsite cooperage. The malt distillery at Alexandria also features a unique combination of traditional swan neck and distinctive straight-necked pot stills, enabling it to produce a diverse range of flavour profiles.
