\nIn another inch towards more diversity in the beauty industry, Est\u00e9e Lauder just announced that Sudanese model Anok Yai will be the new face of the brand. Slowly but surely, the beauty industry has been shifting more towards diversity and inclusion \u2014 a long overdue change that\u2019s been championed in large part by a new wave of brands and influencers like Jackie Aina and Beauty Bakerie. The results? More and more brands are expanding their foundation ranges to cover a more inclusive range of shades, and retooling their beauty campaigns to represent a more diverse representation of beauty.<\/p>\n
Est\u00e9e Lauder is rising to the challenge on both fronts. The brand recently updated its Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation ($42) to include 56 shades, and this week, it announced Sudanese model Anok Yai would be the new face of the brand.<\/p>\n
\u201cEst\u00e9e Lauder has always chosen women who represent our vision of global beauty,\u201d Stephane de La Faverie, Est\u00e9e Lauder\u2019s global brand president, said in a press release. \u201cWith the addition of Anok to our current lineup of diverse spokesmodels\u201d \u2014 which include Misty Copeland, Grace Elizabeth, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Yang Mi, Carolyn Murphy, Hilary Rhoda, Joan Smalls and Fei Fei Sun \u2014 “we continue the brand\u2019s legacy of celebrating women from different backgrounds, ethnicities and ages.\u201d<\/p>\n
