Louis Vuitton\u2019s new collection of perfumes is a laid-back ode to L.A.<\/p>\n

Nearly three years after dipping back into the world of scent, the luxury label is collaborating with L.A.-based artist Alex Israel, who designed the fragrances\u2019 outer packaging. The boxes come in saturated yellow, green and blue, with renderings of a sun, cactus and wave, respectively.<\/p>\n

Israel\u2019s work also adorns two monogram Vuitton travel cases created to hold the perfumes, plus a shopping bag \u2014 each available in limited editions.<\/p>\n

L.A. inspired Louis Vuitton master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, as well. \u201cI love L.A. For me, it is the city of freedom,\u201d he said, adding the City of Angels fits into the brand\u2019s journey theme, too.<\/p>\n

Cavallier Belletrud\u2019s three latest fragrances are fresh \u2014 a new olfactive territory for Louis Vuitton. \u201cI have always been obsessed with freshness in my career,\u201d he said, explaining the idea was to make cologne-like perfumes.<\/p>\n

For Sun Song<\/strong>, which comes in a yellow flacon, Cavallier Belletrud said: \u201cI tried to put the sun in a bottle with this perfume.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cactus Garden<\/strong> has a green bottle. \u201cI\u2019m quite fascinated by cactus, because it\u2019s dry outside and wet on the inside,\u201d he said. \u201cI love the contrast, and built the perfume like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Afternoon Swim<\/strong>\u2019s flacon is blue. \u201cI wanted a shot of vitamin C in the fragrance, something full of energy,\u201d continued Cavallier Belletrud.<\/p>\n

Although the new scents include numerous notes traditionally associated with eau de cologne, they are eau de parfum, with a long-lasting quality.<\/p>\n
