Frankfurt Airport Retail (FAR) is bringing the first Saint Laurent Paris boutique to a German airport. The new shop, which spans 70 square metres, presents the French design house’s entire line of accessories. The focus is on the women’s handbags category. In addition, passengers from around the world can now find jewellery and textile accessories, such as shirts and scarves, as well as belts and sunglasses from the coveted luxury brand at Frankfurt Airport.

Bottega, Saint Laurent, Gucci: FAR and Kering are growing together in travel retail

The new Saint Laurent Paris boutique is located in Terminal 1 Pier Z Non-Schengen in the best company right next to the boutique of the Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta, which also belongs to the Kering Group. “The Kering Group is one of FAR’s and Gebr. Heinemann’s strategically important partners. We are planning further roll-outs with them worldwide. After opening the Bottega Veneta boutique in Frankfurt in April 2018, we are now pleased to be able to open a Saint Laurent store right next door. At the beginning of June, a Gucci store will become the third Kering brand to open in Frankfurt, completing the trio,” says Jan Richter, Director Purchasing Fashion & Accessories at Gebr. Heinemann.

“Saint Laurent is another important conceptual building block in our portfolio of over 75 fashion stores at Frankfurt Airport. In 2019, we are looking forward to opening around 30 to 40 more new or redesigned stores from all categories,” explains Ute Pohl, Senior Vice President Retail at Fraport AG. “For both our German and international guests, airport shopping is an important part of their travel experience.”

The Maison Yves Saint Laurent was founded in 1961. It is renowned around the world for its ready-to-wear collections for men and women as well as its iconic bags and shoes. The brand name of the fashion collections was changed to Saint Laurent Paris in 2015. Accessories and shoes continue to be sold under the highly recognisable Yves Saint Laurent brand, which has remained nearly unchanged since 1963.

New shop concept from Boss

In addition to the Saint Laurent Paris boutique, FAR is celebrating a second première this week in Frankfurt: A new Boss store will also be opening its doors in Terminal 1 Pier B Non-Schengen. Travellers can now find Boss men’s and women’s collection with all lines (Boss, Athleisure and Casual for men and Boss and Casual for women) as well as accessories and shoes.

While the traditional brand was already present at Frankfurt Airport with a mono-brand boutique, the newly opened 248 square metre shop impresses with a completely new store concept. The new Boss boutique has a modern look, which is bright and characterised by high-quality material like marble and wood. The use of digital media, such as screens on the shop façade, adds a contrasting touch. The category walls (denim wall, sneaker wall and polo wall) represent another design novelty.

“We have a long-standing and important partnership with Hugo Boss in travel retail. With the new boutique in Frankfurt, we are implementing a new and fresh shop concept, which is clearly segmented in casual/sportswear and business,” says Jan Richter.

Hugo Boss is one of the world’s leading companies in the upper premium segment of the fashion industry, standing for quality and perfect fit. Men’s and women’s wear from BOSS and HUGO include business fashion, casual clothing and athleisure wear, but also elegant evening dress. The assortment is rounded off with shoes and accessories as well as licensed products – such as fragrances, glasses and watches.
