Ian Macleod Distillers has signed a new agreement with Dufry which will see Edinburgh Gin stocked in Dufry stores outside the UK for the first time.

Edinburgh Gin, a vibrant range of full strength gins and gin liqueurs, is set to broaden its footprint with Dufry, with new listings in airport stores across Europe, including Spain, Portugal, Greece, Malta, Turkey, Switzerland, Russia, Armenia and Bulgaria, and beyond in the US, Brazil and Argentina.

In the home market, Dufry will stock an increased range of Edinburgh Gin with four full strength products, including three new expressions which will be on shelf at the start of June, namely the new GTR exclusive gin, Edinburgh Gin Distillers’ Cut and two new flavoured gins, Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb and Ginger full strength and Edinburgh Gin Watermelon and Lime full strength; the latter expression is exclusive to Dufry.

The exclusive, Edinburgh Gin Watermelon and Lime 1 litre 40% ABV (£29.99) full strength gin is the perfect summer drink. Fresh, bright watermelon notes provide a fruity sweetness that’s met with a sharp bite of tartness from the lime.

Launched in 2010 in the domestic market and with Dufry in 2016, Edinburgh Gin is now the #2 super premium gin in the UK*.

“This far-reaching deal significantly extends our existing agreement with Dufry and signifies a huge shift in the development of Edinburgh Gin globally,” explains Ian Macleod Distillers’ Global Travel Retail Director, William Ovens.

The Edinburgh Gin portfolio is designed to enrich the gin drinking experience through flavour and colour and encourage on-going experimentation amongst consumers. In addition to the new full strength gins, the GTR range includes Edinburgh Gin Seaside and navy strength Cannonball gins alongside five gin liqueurs – Plum and Vanilla, Raspberry, Rhubarb and Ginger, Elderflower, Pomegranate and Rose Edinburgh Gin. A seasonal Christmas expression is available for a limited time only.
