{"id":4613,"date":"2015-05-21T13:53:20","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T13:53:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dutyfreehunter.com\/blog\/?p=4613"},"modified":"2015-05-21T13:53:20","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T13:53:20","slug":"new-campo-viejo-rioja-exclusive-to-world-duty-free","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dutyfreehunter.com\/blog\/new-campo-viejo-rioja-exclusive-to-world-duty-free\/","title":{"rendered":"New Campo Viejo Rioja &#8211; Exclusive to World Duty Free"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Campo Viejo, the world\u2019s No.1 Rioja wine brand, is pushing the boundaries of traditional Rioja winemaking with the launch of Campo Viejo Winemaker\u2019s Art \u2013 an innovative, premium expression of Rioja that celebrates the artistry of the winemaker.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Campo Viejo Winemaker\u2019s Art draws on the creativity of Campo Viejo Chief Winemaker Elena Adell, who with each vintage is given complete freedom to craft a unique new Rioja wine that best represents her passion for winemaking, and reflects the characteristics of that vintage.<\/p>\n<p>Launching with the excellent 2011 vintage, the inaugural Winemaker\u2019s Art release is crafted from highly-concentrated, 100% Tempranillo grapes sourced exclusively from cooler-climate, high-altitude vineyards in the renowned grape-growing region of Rioja Alta. The wine is then matured for 18 months in 70% American and 30% French oak barrels, which were specifically selected by Elena to preserve maximum fruit character, while lending the wine subtle notes of spice and contributing to the development of smooth, silky tannins.<\/p>\n<p>The result is a contemporary style of Rioja that reflects the unique terroir of the region\u2019s northerly vineyards, as well as the winemaker\u2019s expertise in working with Tempranillo.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Winemaker Elena Adell said: \u201cI wanted to create an authentic Rioja, a unique Campo Viejo wine \u2013 and I have enjoyed total freedom of expression in doing so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn many ways the vocation of the winemaker is not dissimilar to that of the artist.
