Irish Distillers teamed up with Eight Degrees Brewing to create a stout barrel-finished expression of Jameson Crested Irish whiskey.<\/p>\n

Fewer than 10,000 bottles Jameson Crested Finished in Black Ball Metric Stout Barrels will be available<\/strong><\/p>\n

The original no-age-statement Jameson Crested was launched in 2016 and is made from a blend of pot still and grain whiskeys. Jameson Crested Finished in Black Ball Metric Stout Barrels follows Eight Degrees Brewing\u2019s Jameson barrel-finished release last year, Black Ball Metric Stout. Fewer than 10,000 bottles of Jameson Crested Finished in Black Ball Metric Stout Barrels (40% ABV) will be available to purchase globally, priced at \u20ac45 (US$53) per 700ml.<\/p>\n

It will be on sale at Jameson\u2019s brand home outlets in Bow Street, Dublin, and Midleton, Cork, from September. From mid-October, travellers will be able to pick up a bottle while passing through Dublin Airport Terminal 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tasting notes include malt and vanilla chocolate on the nose with pot still spices and dried fruits, leading to a creamy texture, mild spice, roasted coffee beans and chocolate on the palate. The finish is said to see the sweetness fade, leaving flavours of pot still spices and malt.<\/p>\n

Dave McCabe, Irish Distillers\u2019 blender, said: \u201cWhen we are selecting a whiskey to mature in these barrels, Jameson Crested became the obvious choice. It\u2019s higher pot still component and Sherry cask inclusion allowed the whiskey to meet the impact of the stout head on, creating a balanced reaction.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe filled the casks in November last year and carefully monitored the whiskey\u2019s progress. After about four months of ageing we felt it was just right. The stout influence is prevalent in the taste, complementing the whiskey beautifully.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a truly unique liquid, perfect when enjoyed neat, paired with a craft stout or as part of a spiced cocktail.\u201d<\/p>\n
