The latest launches will enable travel retailers to take full advantage of the all-important gifting category, which continues to be a key consideration for duty free shoppers. Recent studies have shown that half of European travellers will most likely consider buying confectionery for a gifting occasion, especially when travelling for leisure or visiting friends and family. With the Lindt brand’s reputation as a leading gifting proposition with a multitude of products covering different needs and price points – with LINDOR as the hero brand – Lindt & Sprüngli Travel Retail is well placed to help travel retailers drive sales and profits from this trend.

Sustainability is also a growing concern among travelling consumers, especially millennial shoppers. Sustainability plays a key role at Lindt & Sprüngli. Lindt & Sprüngli takes on responsibility from the selection of the cocoa beans to the production of the finished chocolate products – from “bean to bar”. That’s why they developed their own sustainability program for cocoa beans: the Lindt & Sprüngli Farming Program. The Program strives for ecologically and socially responsible cultivation and supports farmers, their families and their communities. The Lindt & Sprüngli Farming Program reached a significant milestone, with 100% of cocoa beans now traceable back to their origin and externally verified.
