The Irish single malt distillery of Bushmills has announced the 2021 line-up for its annual Causeway Collection. This years selection, which is named after the Giant’s Causeway that is located close to the distillery, features 12 whiskeys. The youngest is bottled at nine years of age (the 2011 Sauternes Cask Finish) and the oldest at 32 years old (the Port Cask, one of the oldest ever releases from Bushmills).<\/p>\n

Other highlights include two Marsala Cask Finishes from 1991 and 1995, another Port Cask Finish from 2000 and a Jupille Cask Finish from 2008 featuring a cask from the famous Belgian brewery. The 12 whiskeys will be spread across eight world markets – Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Scandanavia, UK and travel retail<\/strong>. All are non chill-filtered with prices ranging from \u20ac55\/ \u00a347 to \u20ac950\/ \u00a3815 per bottle.<\/p>\n

\u2018It brings me great pleasure to announce the highly anticipated return of The Causeway Collection, an elusive new collection of limited edition rare cask-finished Irish single malts from the world\u2019s oldest licensed whiskey distillery.<\/em><\/p>\n

Just a stone\u2019s throw from the distillery, the Giant\u2019s Causeway has always served as an inspiration to me. It is an elemental and enigmatic place full of wonder, legend and geology. Where extraordinary hexagonal basalt columns, honed over millennia, form a unique interlocking series of steps found nowhere else in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

Like the columns, the expressions in our Collection are forged in countless minute but meaningful layers..<\/em><\/p>\n

Of salt-laden air and mineral-rich water, of experience and expertise, of patience and ingenuity, of giants before and giants to come, each layer building on the last.<\/em><\/p>\n

While others might just finish their whiskey for six months or so, we have introduced deeper waves of flavour by allowing these whiskeys to finish in special casks for an unprecedented length of time. This creates unique waves of flavour every bit as dramatic as our County Antrim coastline.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Causeway Collection celebrates these extremely rare and unique cask finishes. These special cask-finished whiskeys really are our greatest treasures \u2013 and we can\u2019t wait to share them with the world.’<\/em><\/p>\n
