Gucci has tapped South Korean actress Gyuyoung Park as its latest global brand ambassador, further embracing the K-idol craze that\u2019s sweeping through fashion.<\/p>\n

The actress, best known for starring in a handful of South Korean hit TV shows, including the recent Netflix series \u201cCelebrity,\u201d centered on the lavish and fiercely competitive life of social media influencers, was among the celebrity guests at the Gucci Ancora spring 2024 show last month, the first under the lead of newly minted creative director Sabato De Sarno.<\/p>\n

Park showed up in a tomboyish Gucci look composed of baggy denim pants and a burgundy leather overshirt with matching double-G belt, carrying a cream Gucci Bamboo 1947 handbag.<\/p>\n

After making her acting debut in 2016 for the music video of \u201cCrosswalk,\u201d the lead single of South Korean singer Jo Kwon\u2019s second solo album, Park\u2019s career took off with a few supporting roles.<\/p>\n

In 2020 she landed her first major lead role in \u201cIt\u2019s Okay to Not Be Okay,\u201d a romantic comedy streamed on Netflix that received a nomination at the 49th International Emmy Awards in the Best TV Movie or Miniseries category. That same year Park also starred in the apocalyptic horror series \u201cSweet Home.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2021 the actress was awarded with the Rookie Award at the KBS Drama Awards night for her performance in \u201cDali and Cocky Prince,\u201d a romantic comedy depicting the love affair between a new-rich guy with little education and the daughter of a prestigious family. The series played on the opposition between the different walks of life of its main characters, a plot often integral to South Korean movie productions.<\/p>\n

Next up, the South Korean K-drama star will appear alongside Cha Eun-woo and Lee Hyun-woo in MBC TV\u2019s fantasy romance series \u201cA Good Day to Be a Dog,\u201d which follows the adventures of Park, a high school teacher, who is turned into a dog after she kisses a man and looks for a curse-breaking partner.<\/p>\n

Last June, Park was also revealed to be part of the cast for the upcoming Season Two of hit Netflix series \u201cSquid Game,\u201d for which a release date has yet to be confirmed. Last month she appeared on the covers for the Vogue Korea and Marie Claire Korea September\u2019s issues.<\/p>\n

The pool of international personalities named Gucci ambassadors also includes Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner; Chinese actress Ni Ni, and actor and singer Xiao Zhan, as well as Alia Bhatt, the house\u2019s first Indian global ambassador.<\/strong><\/p>\n
