British perfumery brand Penhaligon\u2019s has partnered with global travel experience player Avolta, to debut its channel exclusive Festival of Flight concept in European travel retail at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.<\/p>\n

Open until August, the animation at Europe\u2019s busiest airport builds on the success of the Festival of Flight pop-ups at Incheon International Airport and Dubai Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the early days of aviation and anchored by a strong sense of place, the pop-up is located in the same terminal as the Penhaligon\u2019s boutique which opened at the end of 2022. The intriguing activation brings to life the magic of exploration with clouds, vintage travel contraptions and machines including a hot air balloon, a propeller plane and blimp all adorning the space.<\/p>\n

Embarking on a fantastical journey<\/strong><\/p>\n

With retailtainment at the heart of Festival of Flight, consumer engagement is encouraged via an interactive activity which invites travellers to ride a bike, whilst virtually visiting iconic British landmarks. A short video clip of the ride can be downloaded and shared on social media, providing travellers with a keepsake of their visit to the UK and their Festival of Flight moment.<\/p>\n

Shoppers are invited to \u2018fly away with their perfect scent\u2019 via a unique Fragrance Profiling experience in which Penhaligon\u2019s fragrance experts ask a series of questions to pair consumers with their ideal scent.<\/p>\n

An elevated \u2018art of gifting\u2019 ceremony completes the Festival of Flight experience, with all purchases placed in a Penhaligon\u2019s branded bag together with a handkerchief and balloon tag, finished with a copper ribbon. Shoppers also have the opportunity to get products wrapped in special Festival of Flight sleeves featuring a Heathrow Airport stamp. With purchases over a certain amount, travellers can enjoy an exclusive selection of miniature Penhaligon\u2019s products in a complimentary pouch, as well as exclusive engraving and calligraphy services which are available on select days throughout the activation period.<\/p>\n

An attractive assortment of Penhaligon\u2019s ranges is available to buy at the pop-up, including British Tales, Portraits, Trade Routes and Potions & Remedies. Additionally, a selection of bath & body and home products as well as a fragrance discovery set are available.<\/p>\n

Omnichannel shopping journey<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 360-degree omnichannel strategy has been developed to support the opening and leverage synergies with the Penhaligon\u2019s boutique in Terminal 5. To drive visibility and awareness of the pop-up pre-trip, an advertising campaign is running on World Duty Free UK\u2019s e-commerce website and social media pages, in addition to the Uber app. At the airport, further awareness is generated via Penhaligon\u2019s branding on the fascia surrounding the boutique in Terminal 5 and selected Penhaligon\u2019s products\/testers being placed in the terminal\u2019s personal shopper rooms.<\/p>\n
