Hendrick’s SUNSPELL is a NEW spell-binding limited release gin and yet another magical addition to Hendrick’s Cabinet of Curiosities that’s available exclusively through Global Travel Retail from November 2024.

The Scottish sunset spun a spell that enchanted Hendrick’s Master Distiller Lesley Gracie. It inspired her to create Hendrick’s SUNSPELL and capture the magic of the natural unfolding beauty of sunset. Like the canvas of colours that illuminate the sky at sunset, this limited release shines bright with bursts of warm citrus and harmonious spices, layered atop of Hendrick’s signature recipe that’s adorned with fragrant rose and refreshingly crisp cucumber.

Known as magic hour, the final rays of sunlight as the sun sets are spellbinding. The light at sundown yields a special magical quality that has long transfixed artists, photographers, sunset chasers and magic embracers alike.

The Hendrick’s SUNSPELL bottle and visual brand world features a setting sun awash in a sky of pinks, purples and oranges. Imagery of sunset over a refreshing bright blue sea coupled with hot air balloon and airplane visuals will connect with curious cocktail explorers venturing through global travel retail.

Lesley Gracie, Hendrick’s master distiller comments: “Living on the wild west coast of Scotland, we get some fabulous sunsets. And the sun setting behind the mystical island of Ailsa Craig on the South Ayrshire coast is really spectacular. I love watching this ultra-ordinary yet absolutely extraordinary scene unfold whenever I can – it starts really nice and bright and orange and then slowly mellows and blends into the horizon. It’s so relaxing to watch, and I especially love the sunsets where there’s a little cloud in the sky and it creates these wonderful stripes of warm light in the sky.

“When walking the coast here you’ll see people stop and take a moment to really breathe it in. The colours you get and the calm warm feeling is magic. You can’t help but feel grounded when basking in the natural beauty of the setting sun.”

William Grant & Sons Global Travel Retail Managing Director Rufus Parkinson comments: “We know how important Global Travel Retail exclusives are for driving category growth, they allow curious consumers to discover something trusted and new they can’t find at home. Hendrick’s SUNSPELL is the ideal expression to release into the channel, as sunset is one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. Sunseekers the world over are captivated by the spell-binding magic of a setting sun on their travels year round, be it on a sandy beach or snowy mountain top, and will be keen to bring that magic home with them.”

Ally Martin, Global Hendrick’s Global Ambassador adds: “Hendrick’s SUNSPELL is a gin that encapsulates the refreshing colour and vibrancy of a setting sun and combines a magical burst of citrus brightness and lightness with a slight mellow warmth and spice and softness that slowly builds with each sip. Try it with tonic or apple juice or create a twist on an aperitivo and combine equal parts Hendrick’s SUNSPELL, Italian bitter apéritif and Red Vermouth topped with sparkling wine and garnish with three cucumber slices and an orange twist.”
