Sandro Bottega presents its new premium Prosecco range called \u2018Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection\u2019 in Amsterdam. The winery in Bibano di Godega also introduces an epoch-making novelty in the world of Prosecco, presenting three different vintages of the well-known sparkling wine at the same time.<\/p>\n

\u2018Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection\u2019 is a selection of bottles characterised by unique features that raise the quality of this sparkling wine to 360\u00b0: Selection of individual vineyards in the most suitable plots in the Unesco Heritage Hills; Glera grapes cultivated in a sustainable manner and harvested only by hand at the moment of perfect ripeness; Pre-fermentation cryomaceration, to fully preserve the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes; Maturation in new \u2018horizontal\u2019 autoclaves, which are the result of the most advanced technological research applied to quality oenology; Long fermentation times (up to 12 months, while Prosecco normally takes about 1 month), to obtain wines with different organoleptic expressions depending on the individual vintage and cru. Finally, 100% Sardinian cork stoppers were chosen. The corks were previously subjected to a procedure, patented by a specialised company, capable of indicating the possible presence of off-flavours (e.g. TCA, responsible for the infamous corky taste), to preserve the wine over time. In other words, top quality in the wine world and prices of up to 250 euros per bottle for wines that have nothing to envy from the various Classic Method and French Champagnes.<\/p>\n

In this regard, the Italian winery drew up a careful comparative analysis, from which it emerged that the production costs of Prosecco, in areas with extreme hillsides, are as much as three times higher than those of Classic Method and Champagne, which are mostly characterised by undulating or flat terrain.<\/p>\n

The tasting of the \u2018Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection\u2019 will be led by Sandro Bottega himself and Dutch Master of Wine Cees Van Casteren, who, after visiting the Bottega winery in Bibano di Godega and the Prosecco Hills area, shared the arguments behind the ambitious project.<\/p>\n

In detail, the following 5 different sparkling wines from 3 different vintages (all available on the market at the same time) will be tasted: Gold Vintage 2023, Gold Cru Vintage 2023, Gold Diamond Vintage 2022, Black Stardust Vintage 2021, Gold Stardust Vintage 2021. The first is vinified in Brut, the others in Extra Brut, an ideal dosage for the wine’s complexity and consequent longevity to evolve over time.<\/p>\n

The tasting will end with a tasting of Prosecco Il Vino dei Poeti Bottega Vintage 2014, demonstrating that even after 10 years this sparkling wine maintains a great pleasure on the palate, losing freshness but gaining structure.<\/p>\n

\u2018Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection\u2019 is distributed in a limited edition (no more than 50,000 bottles), only in the best wine shops and restaurants around the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n
