The Macallan has launched its first flagship boutique on the US West Coast at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in collaboration with DFS.<\/p>\n


\nThe opening follows the launch of The Macallan\u2019s boutique at London\u2019s Heathrow Airport in May 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Officially open now at LAX\u2019s Tom Bradley International Terminal, the new 92-square-metre space is part of the brand\u2019s global travel retail (GTR) expansion.<\/p>\n

Kasper Andersen, regional managing director of GTR at Edrington, commented: \u201cBringing The Macallan to Los Angeles International Airport is an exciting step for us, marking our first West Coast boutique and an important new chapter for the brand in the Americas.<\/em><\/p>\n

The boutique was collaboratively designed with architect Jamie Fobert, bringing to life The Macallan\u2019s newest retail concept \u2013 \u2018Nurtured by Nature\u2019, which tells the story of The Macallan Estate.<\/p>\n

Features<\/strong><\/p>\n

The boutique\u2019s design was inspired by the Six Pillars, which are the key elements that represent The Macallan\u2019s craft and character. Features like oak wood and copper emphasise the importance of The Macallan\u2019s signature oak casks and its small stills, both of which are described as essential to the whisky\u2019s character.<\/p>\n

The standout features include a wave wall that mirrors the design of The Macallan Distillery\u2019s roof in Speyside, and an exclusive \u2018Dancing Leaf\u2019 installation by local artist Sarah Ippolito. Inspired by the lush foliage of The Macallan Estate, the sculpture is shaped like a leaf from the American oak tree.<\/p>\n

A dedicated copper wall showcases the brand\u2019s rare releases. Additionally, charred oak petal shelves and podiums reference the oak staves used in the whisky-making process.<\/p>\n

The Albariza brick wall, crafted from the same white soil used to grow sherry grapes in Jerez de la Frontera, underscores the importance of Sherry cask maturation in The Macallan\u2019s whisky-making process. The space will feature botanical-inspired visual merchandising and olfactory displays, as well as collaborations with local artists.<\/p>\n

The boutique atmosphere is enhanced by an ambient soundscape, featuring an original score created by Mimi Xu Studio, which uses field recordings from The Macallan Estate in Scotland.<\/p>\n
