The Lakes Boundless launches in Etihad Airways’ First Class Lounges

The Lakes Boundless recently secured a listing in Etihad Airways’ First Class Lounges. This reflects the growing popularity of The Lakes Distillery’s whiskies in the Middle East and Asia, two of Etihad’s main destinations. These are two priority markets for the brand, along with an increased focus on Global Travel Retail. This follows the launch of Boundless into Avolta in July, as part of The Lakes’s strategy to grow its international footprint and champion this permanent Global Travel Retail product.

Boundless is a travel retail exclusive and is matured exclusively in the finest first-fill Oloroso sherry-seasoned oak casks and designed with the art of élevage to create a whisky that is rich with bold layers of flavour and complexity. It offers notes of orange oil and dried fruits from European oak elegantly layered with delicate wood spice, toasted oak, and subtle notes of vanilla flowing from American oak. Since its release in September 2024, Boundless has won a Gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2025, as well as a Silver medal (90 points) at the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2025.

Commenting on these launches, Karl Thögersen, Group Head of Sales – Global Travel Retail & Europe said, “We are really proud of these milestone achievements for Nyetimber and The Lakes Distillery. Our first joint activation in Global Travel Retail for The Nyetimber Group is perfectly timed for the gifting season and offers a lot of visibility at this peak time for those travelling during the festive season. We are also really excited by the new listing for The Lakes Boundless on Etihad Airways, which marks a significant step forward in line with our goals to expand our presence in the Middle East and Asia, where we are seeing increased interest in The Lakes Distillery’s whiskies. We are also really excited for British Airways First Class travellers to be enjoying 1086 by Nyetimber 2014 over the festive season.”
