{"id":9064,"date":"2015-11-18T14:01:09","date_gmt":"2015-11-18T14:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dutyfreehunter.com\/blog\/?p=9064"},"modified":"2019-01-23T10:35:12","modified_gmt":"2019-01-23T10:35:12","slug":"glen-grant-fiodh-for-dfs-only-10-decanters-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dutyfreehunter.com\/blog\/glen-grant-fiodh-for-dfs-only-10-decanters-released\/","title":{"rendered":"Glen Grant Fiodh for DFS &#8211; only 10 decanters released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Campari has released new expression <strong>Glen Grant Fiodh<\/strong> for DFS Masters of Wines &amp; Spirits event at Singapore Changi airport, described as the \u201cmost premium ever whisky\u201d from the brand.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Taking its name from the Gaelic word for \u201cwood\u201d, Glen Grant Fiodh is the first in a series of Scotch whiskies in The Back Burn Collection.\u00a0Glen Grant Fiodh is bottled from a cask filled in 1972, the last year that Glen Grant used peated malt.\u00a0Campari says the cask was \u201crediscovered\u201d earlier this year, with less than 20 litres of liquid remaining in the wood.<\/p>\n<p>10 decanters have been released for travel retailer DFS Group\u2019s now annual wines and spirits showcase<\/p>\n<p>Created in partnership with DFS, the collection\u2019s name references the Black Burn, a watercourse which runs behind the Glen Grant distillery in Rothes, Scotland.\u00a0The expression is presented in a handcrafted casket of wood cut from one tree. Each of the ten decanters features a unique, hand-engraved pattern representing the tree\u2019s rings.\u00a0Stoppered with solid wood embellished with silver and gold, Campari says the bottle has been designed to appeal to collectors and connoisseurs alike.<\/p>\n<p>Leigh Irvine, GTR Director, Gruppo Campari, said: \u201cThis new whisky is our rarest and most sought after product to date.
