Bacardi\u2019s Scotch whisky arm John Dewar & Sons has unveiled the latest expression from \u201cThe Golden Dram\u201d \u2013 the name given to Aberfeldy\u2019s water source, the Pitilie Burn, which is renowned for being rich in mineral deposits including alluvial gold.<\/p>\n
Aberfeldy 16 Years Old is finished in Oloroso sherry casks, which is said to give a \u201cmore pronounced sherry accent\u201d to the malt, and provide extra notes of \u201cdried fruit and spice\u201d.<\/p>\n
Bottled at 40% abv, the new release offers notes of \u201choney, citrus and spicy cloves\u201d and is described as \u201csherried and full like fruitcake\u201d with \u201cdabs of dark chocolate\u201d.<\/p>\n
The new expression is available in 11 markets around the world: Belgium, Canada, Germany, France, Japan, Lebanon, Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan and the UK; at an RRP of \u00a362.00.<\/p>\n
