A flawless reflection of the true inner light that shines inside every woman, Susan hypnotizes a handsome young photographer as he interviews and photographs her within a gorgeous, modern, sun-filled glass house. The choice to film in black and white is a perfect encapsulation of the inner contrasts which dynamize the Jil Sander house – the sober color scheme a perfect foil for Susan’’s distinctive warmth and power, which jumps off the screen.
In the print campaign, a beautiful black and white portrait of Susan in an elegant white blouse is juxtaposed with the glowing golden flacon, radiating effortless enthusiasm and confidence.
Young and highly sought-after photographer and director Mathieu Cesar was selected to shoot the Jil Sander Sunlight print campaign, using his trademark black-and-white style. Despite the seeming starkness of this emblematic medium, the campaign is infused with a depth and luminosity that incorporates a sense of graphic disruption and modernity, entirely reminiscent of Jil Sander design. The images celebrate aesthetic purity and minimalism while warming them with the genuine radiance and magnetism of the Jil Sander Sunlight woman.
